POMPEII - VESUVIUS - HERCULANEUM

This tour consist in a full immersion in the Roman Archeology of the bay of Naples ; It includes the visit of Pompeii & Herculaneum and then t, the Volcano that caused their Burial, i.e. the Mount Vesuvius.

Pompeii Ruins :
It’s an incredible well preserved roman town buried under 20 feet of ashes during the main eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. , here , every year , about 3.000 000 tourists come to visit The roman shops , The teather , the forum , the baths , the petrified bodies and more.

Herculaneum ruins :
located in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum was buried by the same eruption of the Volcano , but in a different way to Pompeii. Volcanic material and gases travelled down the crater and hit the ancient city at high speeds and at a very high temperatures. So Herculaneum was covered by 75 feet of hot mud and volcanic materials that “saeled” and preserved the city.

Mount Vesuvius
Mount Vesuvius is famous as the volcano that erupted in Roman times (AD 79) and buried Pompeii and Herculaneum. It is just 6 miles from the modern city of Naples and is a very popular visitor attraction;
From the bottom, we drive toward the very top, once at quota 3200 Ft (1000 meters) we will stop at the parking area
After paying for your ticket, and going through the ticket barrier it is a 15-20 minute grind up a wide gravel path. The path is not steep, but it's relentless and you'll need a rest or three along the way.
There are a procession of people of all ages and sizes. Fit seniors skip up the hill leaving out of shape teenagers in their wake and small children seem to have little problem.
The views across the Bay of Naples are great but Don't expect bubbling lava lakes or anything like that, it's a moon-like landscape and sulphur gases are about as much as you should expect with regards action.

Don't miss the opportunity to see one of the best archaeological sites of the world and the Volcano that destroyed it!
